REAL LIFE. REAL YOGA.™ & The B Squad™
Becky Scoggins spent over 15 years in marketing, advertising and public relations for large and small companies alike. Her job fostered sedentary lifestyle habits that caused an unhealthy weight gain. As a result, she took steps to get healthy and become more physically fit. Her journey with weight loss eventually led her to practice yoga, which allowed her to draw on her previous competitive dance experience as a tween at Diane Guzetti’s School of Dance. A couple of years after beginning her yoga practice, her passion for health and wellness enabled her to obtain her RYT-200 certification, which she utilizes to teach students of all shapes, sizes and abilities. She received specialty training in teaching yoga to individuals with trauma, PTSD, anxiety and mental challenges, and currently teaches yoga and mindfulness to at-risk youth for several nonprofit organizations. She is also a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.
Becky teaches a variety of yoga styles, including a private and semi-private yoga for clients here at Fitness Zone. These sessions are great for anyone looking to increase flexibility, strength and balance. Her trauma-sensitive sessions are another offering, perfect for individuals who may have social anxiety, triggers from traumatic experiences, or specific needs for physical poses due to injury. Becky shares her love of yoga by equipping her students to tackle any challenge in life with a no-frills, down-to-earth approach to each class or practice.
Becky is also an ACE-certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, specializing in circuit training and hiit (high intensity interval training) for individuals, couples and small groups. Her women’s only fitness program, called The B Squad™, is geared towards empowering women to encourage and support one another on their own journey to health and fitness. She specializes in working with women who struggle with self-confidence, weight, high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes and other conditions that generally are a result of poor habits. Her emphasis on behavioral modification allows her clients to re-learn how to make better and healthier choices for a lifelong lifestyle change. She is currently obtaining her Fitness Nutrition Specialist certification so she can further help her clients create a more balanced diet plan. She lives in Greensboro with her spoiled trio of boys; her husband, son, and chihuahua.
